Een ware icoon, dat is zonder twijfel deze schitterende en volledig gerestaureerde 1970 Dodge Challenger. Tijdens de restauratie is deze auto helemaal opgebouwd in R/T uitvoering. De volledig nieuw gereviseerde 440ci motorblok is vervolgens omgebouwd naar 500ci. Een indrukwekkende wijziging voor deze zeer bijzondere en in nieuwstaat verkerende Dodge Challenger.

Eind jaren 90 is deze prachtige amerikaanse klassieke ‘muscle-car’ naar Nederland gekomen en in 2010 is de auto professioneel en volledig gerestaureerd en in nieuwstaat gebracht. Hierbij is nergens op bezuinigd. De High Perfomance 727 automatische versnellingsbak is nieuw en ook de hele aandrijving (aandrijfassen, cardanas, differentieel, etc.) is volledig vernieuwd. De auto is volledig opnieuw gespoten in deze prachtige turquoise kleur. Het volledig vernieuwde zwartlederen interieur vormt een perfecte combinatie.

Het lakwerk en de diverse chroom- en sierdelen zijn nog in zeer goede staat Ook de diverse rubberdelen zijn in hele goede conditie. Er is duidelijk te zien dat er met zeer veel liefde is gezorgd voor deze schitterende icoon uit de auto historie. Ook het interieur is nog in bijzonder (bijna nieuwe) conditie. Het dashboard is nog in prima staat en alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. De auto is niet alleen voorzien van nieuw lederen bekleding, maar ook de tapijtbekleding is vernieuwd. De stoelen zitten bijzonder comfortabel en goed.

Als we de motorkap opendoen, dan schittert alles glanzend tegemoet. Het is alsof de auto nieuw uit de fabriek is gekomen, zo mooi, netjes en verzorgd ziet alles er uit. De complete restauratie en revisie is vakkundig uitgevoerd door de bekende specialist Pedal to the Medal. Het betreft hier een oorspronkelijke SE uitvoering, die geheel is aangepast naar een R/T uitvoering. Deze 1970 Dodge Challenger is met zeer veel gevoel voor perfectie gerstaureerd. Het uitlaatsysteem is vervangen door een speciaal handgemaakte RVS uitlaat. Eventueel kunnen ook de aanwezige sidepipes gemonteerd worden.

Wat moeten we nog zeggen over het rijden van deze heerlijk sturende ‘muscle-car’? Deze auto oogt niet alleen erg puur, maar rijdt ook zo. Het heerlijk klinkende rauwe uitlaatgeluid en de soepel draaiende motor met heel veel vermogen zijn maar een paar van de ingedriënten voor een heerlijke belevenis. Dit is zonder twijfel het echte autorijden. De remmen voelen stevig aan, de auto stuurt bijzonder soepel en het gaspedaal reageert snel op een lichte aanraking.

We overdrijven niet als we zeggen dat we echt onder de indruk zijn van deze geweldige krachtpatser. En we zijn ook best een beetje trots dat we deze Dodge Challenger in onze collectie mogen aanbieden.

This beautiful American classic 'muscle car' came to the Netherlands at the end of the 1990s and in 2010 the car was professionally and completely restored and brought into new condition. The dashboard is still in excellent condition and all instruments work properly. The car is not only equipped with new leather upholstery, but the carpet upholstery has also been renewed. When we open the hood, everything shines brightly. It is as if the car came new from the factory, everything looks so beautiful, neat and tidy. The complete restoration and overhaul was expertly carried out by the well-known specialist Pedal to the Medal. This concerns an original SE version, which has been completely adapted to an R/T version. This 1970 Dodge Challenger has been restored with a great sense of perfection. The exhaust system has been replaced by a specially handmade stainless steel exhaust. The existing sidepipes can also be mounted if necessary.

What else do we need to say about driving this wonderfully handling 'muscle car'? This car not only looks very pure, but it also drives like one. The wonderfully raw exhaust note and the smoothly running engine with lots of power are just a few of the ingredients for a wonderful experience. This is without a doubt real driving. The brakes feel solid, the car steers very smoothly and the accelerator pedal responds quickly to a light touch.

We are not exaggerating when we say that we are truly impressed by this amazing powerhouse. And we are also quite proud that we can offer this Dodge Challenger in our collection.
