Met deze auto hebben we, zonder enige twijfel, iets heel speciaals in de collectie. Deze prachtige Elva replica is een stijlvolle sportwagen en echte racer, gebaseerd op het legendarische engelse sportwagen merk Elva uit de jaren 50. Dit merk stond bekend om zijn betaalbare lichtgewicht sportwagens en deze replica is daar een bijzonder goede afspiegeling van.

Het stalen spaceframe-chassis en de body zijn afkomstig van de bekende kitcar- en replicabouwer Gemini (ook afkomstig uit Engeland). De auto is uiteraard voorzien van diverse benodigdheden voor een echte racer, zoals een aparte brandstofdruk regelaar (handmatig in te stellen), remkrachtverdeler (ook handmatig in te stellen) en een afstelbaar veersysteem. Uiteraard is het stuurwiel afneembaar en zijn er 4-punts racegordels gemonteerd.

De auto is nog in bijzonder goede conditie en helemaal gebruiksklaar. De polyester body is nog in goede staat en ook al het chroomwerk is nog in perfecte conditie. Het interieur is ook nog bijzonder mooi en het dashboard is in prima staat. De tellerunits zijn helemaal nieuw en functioneren goed. Het 2 liter Ford motorblok loopt bijzonder mooi en heeft voldoende vermogen om de 600 kg zware (of lichte) auto voort te bewegen.

De vorige eigenaar is geruime tijd geleden begonnen met de opbouw en restoratie van deze prachtige Elva replica. Foto’s hiervan zijn aanwezig. Uiteindelijk kon hij door diverse omstandigheden het project niet afmaken. Deze auto is door een specialist verder afgebouwd en alles is professioneel en vakkundig aangesloten en afgesteld. Ook zijn er een aantal verbeterpunten toegepast.

Het resultaat is een bijzonder unieke sportwagen, die zowel op het circuit als op de weg prima te gebruiken is. De auto is nog in zeer goede staat en daardoor ook erg leuk om er gewoon tour ritten mee te rijden. Een echte aanrader voor iemand die iets sportiefs en bijzonders wil.
