De Triumph TR3A is natuurlijk van zichzelf al een zeer stijlvolle en sportieve roadster om te zien en ook zeker om te rijden. Maar dat is helemaal van toepassing op deze schitterende 1959 Triumph TR3A in rally uitvoering. Deze engelse klassieke roadster is perfect geschikt voor rally evenementen en heeft een Fiva identiteitskaart. Daarmee kan dus worden deelgenomen aan internationale rally evenementen. Uiteraard is de auto ook voorzien van een rally tripmaster, rolbeugel en een hardtop met authentieke Lucas daklamp.

Oorspronkelijk is deze Triumph TR3A geleverd in België. Het betreft dus een van de weinige exemplaren die voor de Europese markt waren bestemd en heeft dus ook nog een originele kilometerteller (in plaats van mijlen). In 1967 is de auto in Nederland gekomen en heeft altijd zorgvuldig en goed onderhoud gehad. In het verleden is de auto is de auto volledig gerestaureerd en is de oorspronkelijke kleur Primrose Yellow gewijzigd naar de huidige kleur Old English White. Tijdens de restauratie is er een vroege TR4 motor gemonteerd, deze is in 2002 gereviseerd.

De auto is nog in bijzonder goede conditie. De carrosseriekleur heeft nog steeds een mooie glans en ook de diverse chroom- en sierdelen zijn ook nog in zeer goede conditie. Het lakwerk heeft een paar kleine plekjes, maar is eigenlijk nog zeer goed te noemen. De stijlvolle spaakvelgen vormen een mooie combinatie. En ook de verstralers op de voorzijde zijn niet alleen functioneel maar geven de auto een extra sportieve look. De zwarte hardtop is eenvoudig te (de)monteren en uiteraard werkt de authentieke Lukas daklamp prima.

Het interieur is ook nog in bijzonder goede staat. De zwartlederen stoelen zijn nog in zeer goede conditie en zitten bijzonder comfortabel. Het dashboard is ook nog in nette staat en alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. De Brantz tripmaster en klassieke stopwatch zijn recent nieuw geïnstalleerd en functioneren uiteraard prima. Ook het klassieke kaartleeslampje werkt goed. Het lederen sportstuur ligt lekker stevig in de hand en voelt direct aan.

Deze Triumph TR3A is perfect geschikt om heerlijk mee te rijden. De motor loopt bijzonder mooi en soepel en de auto schakelt ook goed en trefzeker. De aanwezige overdrive zorgt voor meer comfort bij hogere snelheden. De auto stuurt lekker sportief en direct. Het sportieve geluid uit de uitlaat maakt de beleving helemaal compleet. The black hardtop is easy to (dis)assemble and of course the authentic Lukas roof light works fine.

The interior is also still in very good condition. The black leather seats are still in very good condition and are very comfortable. The dashboard is also still in neat condition and all instruments work properly. The Brantz tripmaster and classic stopwatch have recently been reinstalled and of course work fine. The classic map reading light also works well. The leather sports steering wheel is nice and firm in the hand and feels direct.

This Triumph TR3A is perfectly suited for a wonderful drive. The engine runs very nicely and smoothly and the car also shifts well and accurately. The overdrive provides more comfort at higher speeds. The car steers nicely sporty and direct. The sporty sound from the exhaust makes the experience complete.
