Zelden hebben we zo’n perfect gerestaureerde auto in onze collectie gezien. We overdrijven niet als we zeggen dat deze schitterende 1967 MGB in perfecte nieuwstaat is. Met zeer grote zorgvuldigheid is deze auto ongeveer 15 jaar geleden volledig gerestaureerd. Uiteraard hebben we het hier over een grondige en vakkundige body-off restauratie, waarvan een uitgebreid fotoverslag aanwezig is. Het resultaat absoluut indrukwekkend.

Deze, in 1967 geproduceerde MGB Roadster, is oorspronkelijk geleverd in Californië in de originele kleur PrimRose Yellow. In de Verenigde Staten is de auto al een keer gerestaureerd en is de kleur gewijzigd naar de stijlvolle Tartan Red carrosseriekleur. Er zijn overigens nog authentieke beelden aanwezig van de auto in zijn oorspronkelijke kleur. Ook de originele Californische kentekenplaat is nog aanwezig bij de auto.

Deze schitterende MGB Roadster is in de jaren 90 in Nederland gekomen en in 2008 is de laatste eigenaar begonnen aan de zeer grondige en volledige restauratie. Er zijn ook foto’s aanwezig van voor de restauratie, waarbij te zien is dat de auto vooraf al in goede conditie was. Tijdens deze restauratie is het motorblok volledig gereviseerd en is er een gereviseerde versnellingsbak met overdrive gemonteerd. Van alle werkzaamheden zijn uiteraard ook de verschillende facturen aanwezig. Tijdens deze zorgvuldige restauratie is ook het interieur volledig vernieuwd en de stoelen zijn stijlvol met zwartlederen bekleding met rode piping gestoffeerd.

Deze prachtige MGB is met de stijlvolle kleur Tartan Red en zwartlederen bekleding in uitzonderlijk schitterende conditie. De carrosseriekleur heeft een diepe glans en de diverse chroom- en sierdelen hebben een prachtige glans. De diverse rubberdelen en afdichtingen zijn in zeer goede conditie. De carrosseriedelen sluiten bijzonder mooi op elkaar en ook de portieren sluiten en openen goed en degelijk. Het is duidelijk dat deze auto met hoogwaardige kwaliteit is gerestaureerd en onderhouden.

Dezelfde hoogwaardige kwaliteit en afwerking is in het interieur terug te vinden. De stijlvolle, volledig nieuw, lederen bekleding is prachtig om te zien en de stoelen zitten bijzonder comfortabel. De vloerbekleding is ook nieuw en het volledig nieuwe dashboard is schitterend om te zien. Het feit dat deze 1967 MGB nog is uitgevoerd met een stalen dashboard met handschoenenvakje, maakt deze auto extra interessant. De tellers en instrumenten zijn in volledige nieuwstaat en werken naar behoren. De aanwezige tonneau is in volledige nieuwstaat en dit geldt ook voor de cabrioletkap. Beide zijn in de bijpassende kleur zwart. Er is ook een windscherm bij deze stijlvolle MGB aanwezig.

Als we de motorkap opendoen, zien we een motorruimte in volledige nieuwstaat. Zeer zorgvuldig onderhouden en in prachtige conditie. Tijdens de restauratie is deze MGB ook voorzien van een elektronische ontsteking, waarbij de bedrijszekerheid verbeterd is. De aanwezige oliekoeler maakt dit nog veel beter. Als we de onderkant bekijken, is de perfecte conditie indrukwekkend. We realiseren ons dat men de auto moet zien om dit te begrijpen.

Zoals de auto eruit ziet, zo rijdt de auto ook. Deze MGB rijdt bijzonder heerlijk en ook bijzonder vriendelijk. Deze prachtige MGB schakelt bijzonder soepel en ook het sturen gaat zeer goed. Het is algemeen bekend dat de MGB een zeer vriendelijke auto is, maar dat geldt zeker voor deze volledig gerestaureerde roadster. De remmen werken goed en stevig en de gereviseerde motor loopt soepel en rustig. Ook de overdrive werkt prima en zorgt voor extra comfort.

Voor degene die een perfect gerestaureerde MGB zoekt, hoeft niet meer verder te zoeken, dat is deze Tartan Red MGB uit 1967!

We have rarely seen such a perfectly restored car in our collection. We are not exaggerating when we say that this beautiful 1967 MGB is in perfect new condition. This car was completely restored with great care about 15 years ago. Of course, we are talking about a thorough and professional body-off restoration, of which an extensive photo report is available. The result is absolutely impressive.

This MGB Roadster, produced in 1967, was originally delivered in California in the original color PrimRose Yellow. In the United States, the car has already been restored once and the color was changed to the stylish Tartan Red body color. There are also authentic images of the car in its original color. The original Californian license plate is also still present with the car.

This beautiful MGB Roadster came to the Netherlands in the 1990s and in 2008 the last owner started the very thorough and complete restoration. There are also photos available from before the restoration, which show that the car was already in good condition beforehand. During this restoration, the engine block was completely overhauled and a revised gearbox with overdrive was installed. Of course, the various invoices for all work are also available. During this careful restoration, the interior was also completely renewed and the seats were stylishly upholstered with black leather upholstery with red piping.

The body parts fit together very nicely and the doors also close and open well and solidly. It is clear that this car has been restored and maintained with high quality.

The same high quality and finish can be found in the interior. The stylish, completely new, leather upholstery is beautiful to look at and the seats are particularly comfortable. The carpeting is also new and the completely new dashboard is beautiful to look at. The fact that this 1967 MGB is still equipped with a steel dashboard with glove compartment makes this car extra interesting. The gauges and instruments are in completely new condition and work properly. The tonneau present is in completely new condition and this also applies to the convertible top. Both are in the matching colour black. There is also a windshield present with this stylish MGB.

When we open the bonnet, we see an engine compartment in completely new condition. Very carefully maintained and in beautiful condition. During the restoration, this MGB was also equipped with an electronic ignition, which improved the operational reliability. The present oil cooler makes this even better. When we look at the underside, the perfect condition is impressive. We realise that you have to see the car to understand this.

The car drives as it looks. This MGB drives particularly wonderfully and also very friendly. This beautiful MGB shifts very smoothly and the steering is also very good. It is common knowledge that the MGB is a very friendly car, but that certainly applies to this fully restored roadster. The brakes work well and firmly and the overhauled engine runs smoothly and quietly. The overdrive also works fine and provides extra comfort.
